Anna-Lena Rüland is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Université Laval and holds a research chair in science diplomacy (funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec). She completed her PhD and postdoctoral studies at Leiden University and University College London. In her research, Anna-Lena focuses on science diplomacy, research security, international research collaboration, North-South research cooperation, and artificial intelligence in science. Her research has appeared in outlets like Globalizations, Global Policy, Scientometrics, and Technology in Society and she is an associate editor at The Hague Journal of Diplomacy.
