Health Inequalities and Intersectional Health Disparities in Sub-Saharan Africa; Pluralistic Health Systems and Health-Seeking Practices; Structural Disadvantage, Stigma and Health Justice.

Biography

James Kenga is a PhD student in the Department of Global Development Studies at Queen’s University. He holds an MSc in Community Health from the University of Toronto, with a focus on addictions, mental health, and public health policy, and a Bachelor of Psychology from Egerton University, Kenya. He also completed the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program in Public Health Policy at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, under the Thriving Communities impact area and focus. His academic and professional interests centre on global health equity, social determinants of health, mental health, and the ways structural and social inequalities shape health and development outcomes, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
