Gr茅gory Pierrot is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Connecticut at Stamford. He has recently translated the French treatise Free Jazz/Black Power by Philippe Carles and Jean-Louis Comolli (Mississippi UP: 2015) and edited a scholarly edition of Marcus Rainsford鈥檚 An Historical Account of the Black Empire of Hayti (Duke UP: 2013; co-edited with Paul Youngquist). His articles have been published in Studies in American Fiction, the African American Review, Criticism, and Notes and Queries. He recently published a monograph entitled The Black Avenger in Atlantic Culture (2019).

Chelsea Stieber is an Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She received her PhD jointly from the Department of French and Institute of French Studies at New York University in 2013. Stieber is currently working on a book that proposes a new, decentralized paradigm to Haitian literary history, for which she was awarded a Kluge Fellowship from the Library of Congress. Stieber's work has appeared in the journals French Studies and 贵谤补苍肠辞蝉辫丑猫谤别蝉, as well as in edited volumes.
