Description:
The annual Prizes for Excellence in Research Public Lectures will occur on April 3, 2017 from 4:30-6:30pm in Grant Hall. The Prizes for Excellence in Research are »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ highest form of research excellence recognition, and are awarded annually to five outstanding scholars.
This year, the speakers will be:
- Gauvin Bailey (Art History and Art Conservation) - A Baroque Palace in the Haitian Rainforest
- James R. Cordy (School of Computing) - This Means That: Programming by Transformation
- Stephen Vanner (Medicine) - Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Light at the End of the Tunnel
- Virginia Walker (Biology) - Piecing Together a Cold Quilt
- Janet Hiebert (Political Studies) - Can Parliament Protect Rights?
- Myra Hird (2015 recipient, School of Environmental Studies) - Canada's Waste Flow and our Global Legacy
