R4R@Q: Identifying and Protecting Your Invention

    When:
    Wednesday, April 10, 2019
    12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
    Where:
    Joseph S. Stauffer Library
    Room: 121
    Find on Campus Map
    Description:

    Participants at this session will:

    • Learn how to navigate the world of patents by reviewing basic statutory requirements for patentability of an invention.  Understanding such requirements will help determine whether your finding would qualify as a patentable invention.
    • Review how a patent is obtained, from preparing and filing the application, to prosecution, and issuance of the patent.  These concepts will be reinforced by analyzing a sample invention and determining its patentability relative to similar products.
