What students experience in work-integrated learning (WIL) shapes how they understand their value, purpose, and place in the world. Rohene Bouajram invites you to approach WIL as ecosystem-building—not just placements—embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) as foundational, parallel commitments in how we design, deliver, and evaluate. Decolonization and reconciliation are not a chapter within the EDIA story; they are their own journey, travelling alongside it toward shared horizons. This session honours both paths and asks all of us to walk them with greater intention.
You'll leave with a practical framework for identifying and removing structural barriers, protecting dignity, and expanding who gets to fully participate. Because what we normalize today becomes the standard we pass on to the next generation.
The future is already watching what we build. Let's make it something worth seeing.
