    A new version of the »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ Events Calendar will launch Wednesday, August 26. All events dated September 1, 2024 and later will be migrated. As part of this process, additions to the current calendar will be suspended at 3:00 p.m. on August 25.

    Description:

    The 2026 Royal Society of Canada Eastern Ontario Symposium is a free event open to anyone from the Kingston community and beyond, interested in hearing four experts talk entertainingly about their research. There will be a short period for questions following each presentation. Tickets are required and can be obtained in advance from the Isabel Box Office (up to two tickets per order) or at the Box Office on the evening of the symposium. Seating is assigned so getting tickets early will ensure a good seat. A cash bar opens at 5:30 PM with a free reception at intermission. 

    This year’s speakers include: Lori Burns, Professor Emerita at the School of Music, University of Ottawa, specializing in the fields of popular music research and gender studies, Cao Thang Dinh, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals at Queen’s University; Stephen Scott, Vice-Dean of Research for »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ Health Sciences and Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences; Stéfanie von Hlatky, ​Canada Research Chair in Gender, Security and the Armed Forces and Associate Vice-Principal (Research) at Queen’s University, where she is also a Full Professor in the Department of Political Studies.
