Rama岣嵞乶 is the month of fasting (ending with 驶莫d al-Fi峁璻 on April 20 at sunset) during which physically able Muslims do not eat or drink from the first sign of dawn until sunset. It is a time of self-examination and religious devotion. An observant would not be expected to refrain from work; however, special consideration for worship may be requested. (Observance begins at sunset of the previous day, but special worship and prayers begin March 23.) (Dates based on lunar observations in North America.)
