    Description:

In this hands-on session, we’ll sow seeds, transplant young plants, and welcome the new season together in the newly established gardens. It’s a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect, and plant hope, literally and figuratively!

Overview: This hands-on session invites participants to embrace the spirit of renewal by planting together in the vibrant new garden space behind Nicol Hall. As we sow seeds and transplant seedlings and young plants, we'll reflect on the fresh energy of the season and the hopeful beginnings that gardening brings. The activity will foster connection, joy, and a shared sense of purpose as we welcome the season ahead. All tools and materials will be provided. Come ready to plant, connect, and savour the moment! Light Refreshments will be provided.

    Organizer and Facilitator

    Gardens 4 Joy

It is an initiative at ɫƵ that aims to help in fostering the wellbeing of students, faculty, and staff through gardens and gardening. Based on her previous research and decades of experience creating and savouring gardens, Dr. Maha Al Makhamreh founded this initiative and successfully implemented it in the spring of 2024.

Maha acknowledges: “Thanks to a big team of believers in positive change, passionate gardeners, and participants in every form, the initiative went above and beyond last season—and continues to thrive.”
