Dr. Fayed is an Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy. Her mission is to improve the quality of life of children with diverse abilities, and their families, through justice-based and evidence-informed, measurement, systems and policy research. Core competencies include measurement of latent constructs in childhood and adolescence, health classification, university teaching, and health care systems evaluations. She believes there is a strong need in health service provision and policy to understand and improve systems on the basis of the most important outcomes for children and their families. This goal requires good measurement practices, access to data, patient-partnered change, and pragmatic implementation of real- world evidence.

Teaching the next generation of clinicians and researchers is a priority for Dr. Fayed. She has taught courses in occupational therapy and research methods at the graduate levels. Her scholarship is informed by clinical experiences as an occupational therapist and international research experience.
