Biography

Ashleigh Picard is a MPL candidate at Queen’s University. She holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies in Conservation and Sustainability from Carleton University. Her interests lie at the intersection of heritage conservation, urban design, land-use planning, and community development. She is particularly interested in how communities can balance development pressures with the conservation of heritage buildings, landscapes, and local identity. She is interested in how planning policy, adaptive reuse, and community-led revitalization can support sustainable and resilient communities while maintaining a strong sense of place.
