Sari Liem is a seasoned urban planner and strategic leader with extensive experience in land use planning, transportation infrastructure, public policy, and public health. With a strong foundation in policy analysis, program development, engagement and collaboration, Sari brings a holistic and systems-thinking approach to shaping healthy, inclusive, and sustainable communities. Currently serving as the Program Manager for the MoveSmart Mobility Management Strategy at the City of Vaughan, Sari has spent the past three years spearheading initiatives that promote sustainable mobility, reduce transportation-related emissions, and enhance access to safe and equitable transportation options. Her work integrates municipal planning with public health and climate resilience objectives, ensuring mobility strategies are aligned with Vaughan’s broader growth and livability goals. 

A graduate of Queen’s University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) in 2002, Sari has worked in both the public and private sectors, gaining experience in consulting and municipal settings. This diverse background has sharpened her skills in policy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement. She brings a deep commitment to building better cities, ones that prioritize well-being, equity and the long-term needs of communities.
