Queen鈥檚 is taking part in Towards Zero Hunger: A Global Dialogue, a webinar series organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) . The series highlights innovative practices that help end hunger, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture in alignment with UN SDG 2.

The fourth session, Sharing Experiences from the 黄色视频 Provost's Food Security Advisory Committee, takes place on November 27 and will be led by Kate Humphrys, Manager of Health Promotion at Student Wellness Services, Student Affairs. Her presentation will focus on the origin of the committee, initial role and current actions of the committee and some of the members, as well as the plans/objectives for 2026.

Kate Humphrys is the Manager of Health Promotion at Queen鈥檚 University in Kingston, Ontario Canada.  She is the current acting chair of the Queen鈥檚 University Food Insecurity Advisory Committee. Kate holds a Master of Public Health in Community Health from Brock University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen鈥檚 University, and a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education with Biology, also from Queen鈥檚.   Her career spans public health, education, and international development, with previous roles at local Public Health, Community Health organizations, the Ontario Lung Association, Outward Bound Canada, and several international health education NGOs. In her current role, Kate is privileged to support the importance of well-being across post-secondary campuses, including work actioning  SDG 2.

Kate has contributed to several academic research projects as a knowledge translation specialist and has led campus-wide student health surveys to support campus and community health policy development.  Currently, her role oversees food skills programming run by Peer Health Educators and supports on-campus food access initiatives.  Kate is passionate about creating supportive, evidence-informed environments that foster equity, and holistic well-being. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside and cooking with her family.
