Revisions approved by Senate, January 2026

For each cyclical program review (CPR) conducted at the university, the committee will:

  • Assess whether review recommendations are within the scope of the review, as defined by Queen’s University Quality Assurance Processes. The committee may exclude a recommendation from the implementation plan. In this case, it will explain in the final assessment report why the recommendation was not prioritized for further action.
  • Review and approve draft final assessment reports and implementation plans.
  • Assess whether proposed implementation plans are reasonable and actionable. If plans for implementation are unclear or insufficient, the committee may request follow-up from programs and/or deans.
  • Review and approve 18-month and 4-year progress reports on the implementation of CPR recommendations. If progress is behind schedule, the committee may request intervention by the faculty dean.

The committee will:

  • Report annually to Senate.
  • Recommend to Senate, for its approval, institutional policies and procedures related to cyclical program review.
  • Share information on an ad-hoc basis with the Senate Educational Equity Committee on the effectiveness of the implementation and administration of educational I-EDIAA related policy in practice.
