Then just click on the link provided for the Graduate Student Ambassadors and you can fill out a form with your question(s). As our Graduate Student Ambassadors are also current graduate students at 黄色视频, it may take up to three days for a response, so please be patient!

Please note that our Graduate Student Ambassadors have no involvement with decisions around admissions, funding and courses. They can, however, advise you on resources available to you as a graduate student and of their personal experiences in navigating the challenges of grad school.

Marcus B Young

Marcus Young (PhD, Cultural Studies)

Marcus Young (he/him) is a researcher whose scholarly focus is on masculinity and visual culture. As a Graduate Student Ambassadors, he is invested in helping new and current graduate students thrive socially and academically. Elyse LongairElyse Longair (PhD, Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies)

Elyse Longair is an artist, curator, and image theorist from Lethbridge, Alberta. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies at Queen鈥檚 University. Longair鈥檚 research focuses on collage history, collage as research creation and institutional strategies of collecting and curating collage. Her Simple Image Theory in collage re-imagines the role of images away from the overt-complexity that dominates our world, opening up new possibilities for imagined futures.

Longair actively participates in the arts community serving as Chair, Chief Curator, for the Services to Artists Committee, College Arts Association, The Local Shorts Programmer for The Kingston Canadian Film Festival and as a member of The University Arts Association Sustainability Committee. At Queen鈥檚, Longair contributes as a Visitor Services Gallery Receptionist at The Agnes Etherington Art Centre and administers and a contributes to the graduate blog, Gradifying, offering invaluable insights into graduate life.

Bhavya BograBhavya Bogra (PhD, Geography and Planning)

Bhavya is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Department of Geography and Planning. Her research focuses on understanding the local travel needs, particularly the unmet travel needs and challenges, experienced by immigrant older adult women living in mid-size Canadian cities. While her academic pursuits delve into the complex layers of Human Geography and Urban Planning, Bhavya's interests extend well beyond research. She is a community builder and has been involved with the Association of Indian Graduate Students at Queen鈥檚 (AIGSQ), facilitating smooth transitions for fellow international students from South Asian countries. She has also started working as the Neighbourhood Climate Action Champion for the City of Kingston, a role aimed at inspiring community-focused actions to support the city鈥檚 Climate Leadership Plan. Beyond academia, Bhavya finds self-expression and adventure in dancing, hiking, and biking. Her diverse activities reflect her zest for life and learning.

 

KylieKylie Rafter (Master, Education)

Kylie Rafter is a second-year Master of Education (M.Ed.) student in the Faculty of Education at Queen鈥檚 University. Supervised by Dr. Pamela Beach, Kylie鈥檚 research interests include special education, literacy and language development, and professional development for educators. She holds a Professional Master of Education and a Bachelor of Education and is committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-informed educational practices that support diverse learners and educators. Kylie currently serves as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, Research Fellow, and Research Assistant within the Faculty of Education. She is actively involved in the Queen鈥檚 educational community, having served on the Education Graduate Student Society as Co-Chair of the RBJGSE 2026 Conference and will serve as the Master鈥檚 Student Representative on the Graduate Research Committee this year. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Kylie enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with her goldendoodle.

OwenOwen Juan (Master, Science)

Owen Juan is a second year Master鈥檚 student at the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, working in the Revved Up Lab supervised by Dr. Jennifer Tomasone. His research is focused on how intersectionality can be implemented in physical activity research for persons experiencing disability, and is funded by all three tri-council agencies (SSHRC, CIHR, and NSERC). In addition, he is also interested in exploring how active transportation, accessible cycling, and speed management interventions can be used to create healthier and more equitable cities. In his free time, Owen enjoys staying active by working out, running, and cycling. As a former head chef of an Italian restaurant, he also enjoys trying out new restaurants and cooking dishes from different cuisines.
