Hannah Lamport graduated cum laude in field with departmental high honours from Harvard College in 2023, where she received a Bachelor of Arts for a joint concentration in Chemistry and History of Art and Architecture. Her research explored the introduction of synthetic pigments in Meiji-era Japan and their effect on kimono production.

She spent two years with the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian in New York, where she worked closely with the collections, conservation, and family & youth experiences departments. She was a key presenter at the IAMFA 2024 conference, where she spoke on the mitigation and treatment of TMP-ol efflorescence growing on display case objects.

Laurie graduated with high distinction from Concordia University with a BFA in Art History. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a French and English editor for CUJAH, Concordia’s Undergraduate Journal of Art History. She also volunteered to install exhibitions within various art organizations such as the artist-run center Oboro and the public art festival Art Souterrain. During the last year of her undergraduate studies, she gained experience in field archaeology at Université de Montréal’s field school in Greece. She then worked to document the dig’s findings through archaeological drawings, both in the field and at Université de Montréal, through a research assistantship. After her studies, she developed her interest in organic materials by gaining woodworking experience at ÉÉAM, l’École d’ébenisterie d’art de Montréal.

Mahlia Toffoli graduated from Queen’s University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a minor in Classics. During her undergraduate degree, she gained experience working at historical sites through Parks Canada and Watson’s Mill Manotick Inc. as a historical interpreter. She volunteered at Parks Canada Agency Laboratories, gaining conservation experience. In addition, she participated in a month-long archaeological excavation at the historic site of Stobi in North Macedonia in 2023, where she contributed to excavating the site, and cleaned and catalogued primarily ceramics and organic material. In her free time, she enjoys oil painting, knitting and reading.

Mirren received a B.A. in Early Modern Studies and History, as well as an undergraduate certificate in Art History and Visual Culture from the University of King’s College in 2025. During this time, Mirren gained experience working with the Dartmouth Heritage Museum where she assisted with a variety of tasks including cataloguing and exhibit installation, as well as the conservation and storage of archival materials and artifacts. She continues to explore her interest in archival materials through bookbinding, calligraphy, and watercolor painting.

Ren received an BScH in Chemistry, a minor in Art History, and a Concurrent Certificate in Critical Curatorial Studies from McMaster University in 2024. Prior to this, they completed two years of studying concept art at MTM college where they got hands-on experience with a variety of art materials. Along with their education, Ren had two internship opportunities where they got to explore the world of art conservation and preservation. At the Art Gallery of Hamilton, they worked closely with Preparators and the Collections Manager, learning what happens during exhibition changeover and accessioning artworks. While working at the McMaster University Library Archives, Ren found their interest in paper treatment, having had the chance to treat a collection of posters and other archival materials. Ren continues to make art in their spare time, with a particular affiliation to oil and watercolour paints, and they are currently exploring bookbinding.

Tamsin holds an Advanced Diploma in Textiles from Sheridan College’s School of Craft and Design(2015), a BFA in printmaking and art history from NSCAD University (2017), and an MA in Women and Gender Studies from Saint Mary’s University (2022). Their MA research used feminist materialist, queer, and autotheoretical scholarship alongside hand-knitting a sweater to examine ephemeral, bodily, and anarchival knowledge-making practices.

Before arriving at Queen’s, Tamsin worked across the cultural sector as an artist, arts administrator, instructor, gallery manager, fashion technician at NSCAD University, and conservation intern with the Nova Scotia Museums. While at the Nova Scotia Museums, Tamsin documented, cleaned, and repaired a collection of 19th-century hand-painted geological maps, and helped stabilize and mount artifacts for display.

Samantha Mitchell graduated with Deans Honours from the University of Waterloo in 2025 with a BA in Fine Arts Studio Practice, Co-op. For her fourth-year thesis, Samantha developed a series of oil paintings on panels and exhibited at the University of Waterloo Art Gallery. She also received the Region’s UW Fine Arts Award where her paintings were selected by a jury to be displayed at a region library for a year.

Samantha has gained valuable experience through her co-op positions from Art Preparator and Installation Intern at McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Collections Assistant at the St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre and a Museum Assistant at the City of Waterloo Museum. Through these positions, she was introduced to art handling, preventative conservation and the love of art conservation.

Kim Johnson graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Art History, with a minor in Fine Arts. While attending university, she worked as a student employee at the Drexel Founding Collection, where she assisted with exhibitions and collections. She completed two internships at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, concentrating on the conservation of works on paper and photographs. She also interned at Gold Leaf Studios in Washington, D.C., where she gained experience conserving frames and other gilded objects.

Audrey completed a two-year Visual Arts degree (2021) at Cégep Lionel-Groulx before pursuing a B.A. through a major in Art History at the Université de Montréal (2024) and a minor in Museum Studies and Art Dissemination at the Université du Québec à Montréal (2025).

Prior to joining Queen’s, Audrey worked at the Musée des beaux-arts du Mont-Saint-Hilaire, where she gained experience in artwork handling, installation and deinstallation, preventive care, and public engagement through guided tours and educational programs. She later completed an internship with DL Héritage in Montreal, where she was subsequently hired as an art conservation technician. In this role, she assisted with conditions and treatment reports, participated in the care and maintenance of public artworks, and contributed to a wide range of conservation projects, both in the studio and on site.
