Congratulations to Dr. Shobhana Xavier who has been awarded a Wabash Center Fellowship for a project entitled: "Navigating the Taboos of Race, Ethnicity and Religion in the Classroom." For the Fellowship project she will be researching and reflecting on her religious studies pedagogical practices, especially for her course on race, ethnicity and religion.
Dr. Shobhana Xavier received a research grant from the Center for Islam in the Contemporary World at Shenandoah University for her research on Sufism in contemporary Sri Lanka.
Dr. Shobhana Xavier presented some of her research on Sufi shrines in contemporary Sri Lanka at the Sufism and Body Conference at Utrecht University on September 13, 2019.
»ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ School of Religion is excited to announce that we will be hosting Professor , an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, as a »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ Visiting Scholar. Professor Gray works on African American religion broadly, and is interested in connections between race, subjectivity, religion, and embodiment. He is currently completing a book on contemporary racial justice movements, like Blacklivesmatter, and is exploring the intersections between embodiment, religion, and subjectivity.

A group of the world’s top performing students gathered in Dublin from 11–13 November 2019 to take part in the Global Undergraduate Summit, a 3-day conference where students from 38 universities, 12 countries and 25 different categories gathered to collaborate and share research.
