Open houses and buildings 

Many buildings are hosting Open Houses over the weekend! Please take a look at the Homecoming Events Calendar: Open Houses for the most up-to-date times and information. The following key venues are open to the public:

Guided tours

Guided tours are unavailable during Homecoming weekend, but you can arrange a tour at a different time, almost any day of the year. Please contact the Campus Tours team in the Registrar’s Office or use the to enjoy a self-guided tour.

Dining and pubs on campus

  • is open on Friday, noon - 6 pm, closed Saturday
  • is open to alumni Thurs-Sat 11:30 am - 1 am, Sun-Wed 11:30 am - 9 pm. After 9 pm, the Pub is student-only and 19+ after 9 pm, with one guest allowed to be signed in per student.
  • On-Campus dining information can be found on the Dining and Hospitality website
  • Ban Righ dining hall will be closed during Homecoming weekend

The university is committed to providing an environment that promotes the responsible use of alcohol through education and harm reduction strategies, responsible service of alcohol at licensed locations and events, and the encouragement of alcohol free spaces, activities, and programs. As part of this commitment, the university continually strives to implement best practices with respect to alcohol related behaviors and practices. »ÆÉ«ÊÓÆµ Alcohol Policy is followed by all on-campus establishments and off-campus sanctioned events.

Visiting Kingston

Kingston's  is located at 209 Ontario St. in the heart of downtown across from Kingston's historic City Hall. It is open daily to answer all your questions about what to see and do, or where to stay or dine – all the local information you need to help make your stay an enjoyable one.

The  also offers the convenience of purchasing tickets for some of Kingston's world-class attractions, including , , and the .

Accommodation

There are some hotels and historic inns in downtown Kingston that offer premier accommodation. See  for the most comprehensive list of available accommodation. 

For group bookings, check with your Reunion Coordinator in the Reunions Directory to see if one has been made for your year at a Kingston hotel.

Tip: Group Bookings are often released about 5-6 weeks before Homecoming if the rooms haven’t been booked. If you checked during the summer and were unable to find availability, it’s possible that more space at the key downtown hotels will open up closer to the homecoming date.

Restaurants and eating in the city

Note: Ban Righ will be closed during Homecoming weekend. Leonard Dining Hall will be open.

If you’re hungry for a bit of nostalgia, you can hit old favourites like the Kingston Brew Pub, Morrison’s, and the Grad Club. Visit Queen’s Hospitality Services for the cost and times of meals.

Parking and transit in the city

Parking

During Homecoming, consider leaving your car at the hotel when coming to campus. Downtown is a short stroll from campus. 

Downtown Kingston has metered parking on most streets and a mix of parking lots and garages. provides more information on rates and lot locations.

Kingston has partnered with to offer a new way to pay for parking at all Municipal Pay & Display parking lot locations and accessible on-street parking spaces across the city.

With the Honk app, residents and visitors can seamlessly search, pay for, and top up parking from a phone, tablet, or computer.

Kingston Transit

provides bus service within the urban area of the City of Kingston. With a variety of convenient and accessible travel options, it's easy to get you where you want to go.

Kingston Transit provides Park & Ride for those who wish to park their vehicles and ride the bus the rest of the way to their destination. Free parking at these locations is available on a first-come, first-served basis at:
